Village strategies

The game has no mandatory offense or defense village types. You can develop every village as you choose. In a multi-village realm, however, focusing troops, buildings, and resource flow on a particular task can be an effective strategy.

Give a village a role

This is a planning choice, not a rule. You may develop some villages for raids and attacks, and others for garrisons and support. Position, nearby threats, current village levels, and your banner’s needs can all change that choice.

Offense focus

An offense-focused village prepares to break garrisons, lower Walls, or join conquest waves. Axemen provide attack power. Light Cavalry excels at speed and loot. Rams target Walls, while Catapults target buildings. Develop the Barracks, Stable, Workshop, and Farm around that plan.

Scout a target first. Distance, Walls, morale, and luck affect major attacks. It is safer to send only with a wave that can win the battle.

Defense focus

A defense-focused village keeps its own garrison and incoming support strong. Spearmen resist cavalry and Swordsmen resist infantry. Keep both balanced when the attack type is unknown. Heavy Cavalry is strong but expensive.

The Wall strengthens the whole garrison, though Rams can lower it before battle. Scouts do not take part in normal combat, but can block enemy intelligence. Tell your banner about serious threats early and coordinate support troops.
